Following the news that David Tom has been let go from the role of Billy Abbott on Young and the Restless news of his replacement followed quickly.
As a matter of fact, Billy Abbott replacement Burgess Jenkins tweeted the news himself. Burgess tweeted on his official Twitter account, “So excited to be joining the Y&R family! Thanks so much for the outpouring of warm welcome from all the fans”
With the loss of Billy Miller from the role, who was an award winning actor who made Billy Abbott a household name, we wonder if Mr. Jenkins will be able to make it his own.
Goodbye David Tom, hello Burgess Jenkins. We wonder if the rumors of Jill Farren Phelps asking Billy Miller to come back were true. She would be a fool of she did not try.

She probably tried to get BM back just like MM at a lessers salary. What an insult to the actors. I hope they come back when the hag is gone! She needs to go pronto!

Phelps was forced to recast the role of Billy Abbott, after she failed miserably in a “phony” bid to keep Billy Miller on the show’s canvas. The truth is, Miller wasn’t a (FOJ’s), you know, Friend of Jill’s, so she made no concessions and arrogantly just barreled down the highway to hell and back, and fans were devastated to see Miller leave. And will be equally as mystified when Tom is pushed out. He’s currently unaware of her plans, but our sources confirm it’s in the works.Jill FarrenPhelps

Well, that ices it for me and the Billy character. There's no longer any continuity. At least I remember DT from the original young Billy days so the change worked for me.

JFP from what I have read is try to buy Billy Miller or Michael Muhney back on the show!!
Doesn't look as if either took her lost cost bring them back to the show idea!!
And if the brought MM back then what we they do have to recast Summer??
With the mess they were supposed to have caused they wouldn't want to be on the same stage with each other!!

I can't see either coming back. BM was pretty up front about the fact that he wasn't going to be a long term and MM was sort of run out of town.
