The battle on “The Walking Dead” is no longer just between zombies and humans. Season 3 of the hit AMC series developed the tagline “Fight the dead, fear the living,” and that’s something that will be taken to the next level in Season 5.
Daryl Dixon’s Norman Reedus told Entertainment Weekly that the crew is in the middle of filming the post-apocalyptic drama, and that the scripts are “the best scripts so far.”
“I’m just really excited to be back at it,” the actor dished to EW. “There are a lot of characters right now, so there are a lot of really different personalities on set. And it’s super interesting, everyone’s really bringing it. It’s going great. It’s so dynamic because it’s so fast-paced and so complicated. It’s great to be back.”
Last time “The Walking Dead” left off, a majority of the group had reunited at Terminus after the fall of the prison. Unfortunately, Terminus didn’t turn out to be the safe haven that everyone was looking for. After a nasty standoff, the Termites ended up stuffing Rick, Daryl, Carl and Michonne into “train car A.” It was in their new imprisonment that the foursome finally met back up with Maggie, Glenn, Sasha and Bob; and was introduced to Tara, Eugene, Abraham and Rosita. And while the survivors were left in a bit of a sticky situation, it also reawakened “old” Rick.
“Everyone on the whole team is so badass right now,” Reedus added of the evolution of the characters. “It’s interesting, because a lot of personalities are clashing, or characters’ personalities are clashing. But yeah, we definitely have Rick back.”
Fans of “The Walking Dead” will have to wait until the fall to watch some of the drama unfold, but it’s pretty easy to speculate about some of the “clashing” personalities. For starters, Carol finally came clean to Tyreese about killing Karen at the prison. Tyreese didn’t kill Carol in return, but their relationship is bound to change with that piece of information.
Viewers should also worry about the new characters -- like Gareth, the leader at Terminus. While the Termites aren't confirmed cannibals, there's definitely something fishy going on. Rick could also potentially butt heads with Abraham. The pair are both the leaders of their groups, and the union of the two could lead to some awkward situations at first.
