Today's News: Our Take Exclusive: Former Men in Trees Star Scott Elrod Joins The Young and the Restless Michael Logan Jul 10, 2014 09:15 AM ET by Michael Logan Scott Elrod
It's a recipe for disaster! Heartthrob Scott Elrod is heading to CBS's The Young and the Restless in the contract role of Joe Clark, the ex-husband of Julia Child wannabe Avery Clark (Jessica Collins). As fans know, the marriage went south when Avery began her affair with war vet Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton), but she has always felt guilty for betraying her husband and has privately hoped he's found happiness.
But what are the chances of that? According to a show rep, "Viewers can expect Joe to have more than a few tricks up his sleeve as he crosses paths with several key Y&R characters." Look for Elrod to hit the air in early October.
Elrod's film credits include Lone Survivor and the 2012 Best Picture Oscar winner Argo. Fans of the ABC romantic comedy series Men in Trees will remember him as Cash, the sexy, free-spirited handyman who went to work for Marin (Anne Heche) and repaired much more than her rundown mountain cabin. The big question: Which Genoa City gal will benefit from Joe's handiwork?

I have always loved Phyllis and Jack. One of the big problems I had with Phyllis and Nick was Jack. I'm good with Avery and Dylan. I've never liked Shick because I've never been a Nick fan. I was a big Shadam fan. But now that Sharon has gone through such a transformation she might be a strong enough character to write as a good foil to Nick...sort of like Dru used to be a good foil to Neil. I could get into that. I'll feel badly for Adam when [if?] he returns. He'll need a good friend to help him through the depth of Chelsea's betrayals. If Sharon provides that will she be strong enough to help without sinking back into his acceptance of her...warts and all?
