Karina Logue has been cast as Helen Copeland on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, and will first air on Thursday, August 14. The actress has appeared in several TV series, including SONS OF ANARCHY (starring her brother, Donal Logue), CSI: NY, BONES, TRUE BLOOD, NCIS and ARMY WIVES, and films such as Argo, Zodiac and When A Stranger Calls. Details about her character are being kept under wraps, but seeing as how she shares a last name with Mariah, there's obviously some kind of connection there, and the soap has confirmed that Logue will first appear in scenes with Joshua Morrow's Nick. The casting notice describes Helen as a trained nurse who was in and out of jobs, and she was a young mother... but an unwilling parent. Attachments:

I'm wondering if Mariah's mom is Sharon's sister. That would help to explain the look alike aspect of Cassie and Mariah. It would also explain why Doris is such a cranky woman and why she disapproves of Sharon so often. Could Doris have given up a child for adoption too? Does she regret it and does having seen Sharon do the same thing those many years ago bring out repressed anger and guilt? Is Doris secretly jealous of Sharon because she was reunited with her child?

Hopefully (Mariah's mother is, Sharon's sister) that surely would explain a few things??
Having daughter that look exactly a like, both Sharon & Mariah are kleptomaniacs!!
What would be funny is if Nick gets his hands on Mariah's mom and Sharon catches them together and that is when Sharon finds out she has a sister and was given away!!

I honestly feel the writers dont know where they are going wth the Mariah character.They might as well just had her be cassie.

I honestly feel the writers dont know where they are going wth the Mariah character.They might as well just had her be cassie. I agree. It would have been much more dramatic too and could have brought Daniel back with Phyllis making for a cohesive storyline and closing the loops. |

I think the JFP and her writers are stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to this storyline with Mariah and Sharon!!
They're even more stuck with the storyline about the truth ~ Sharon finally telling the truth about the paternity tests and who the real father is ~ "Nick"!!
Thank heavens its not Jack he is down right disgusting and to since he told Kelly her loves her, I am even more glad that Nick is Summer's father!!
Every storyline they have is plain down right boring and stupid ~ I've even gone to sleep watching the shows ~ one GREAT BIG BORE!!
SONY/CBS/WRITERS or whomever need to finish all these dim-witted storys and start all brand new ~ but first get rid of JFP and her sidekicks!!

I'm not happy either WV and have been either FF or not watching. I just don't have the time because of work and when I do see it I'm bored. I don't blame Jack. He's been without someone for a very long time and no sooner was he hooking up with Phyllis than she was gone. Truth be told Phyllis was also still pining after Nick a bit. Her return should make for good drama. There are so many ways this could go.

Got to thinking about this ~ NO one has seen hide nor hare of Doris since Cassie/Mariah has come to town!!
Wonder when she will be rolling through town and see the look a like girls ~ then will see Sharon and Mariah's Mom ~ bet she has a nervous breakdown!!
Bet she will think she gave up the wrong girl ~ the girl that plays the other Mom is lots prettier than Sharon!!

I don't know who Sharon's father is. That's part of what would make Mariah's mom being Sharon's sister interesting. We might get the background story. Doris is cruel, IMO. I think if Mariah's mom was given up she got the better deal.

I would like thme to fire phelps and have y&r go on hiatus while the new writing team re does the storyRight the wrong so to speak. yeah it might hurt for a while, but if they done the promo right and such it could come back with a big bang!
